Once Upon a Book Club is a unique, interactive online community that offers a monthly subscription service where readers will receive a monthly box in the mail containing a newly released book to read for the month, along with 3-5 individually wrapped gifts.  The gifts will have page numbers attached to them and are strategically designed around something that is mentioned in the book.   Readers are not meant to open the gift until they have reached that particular page.

We are a unique, interactive reading experience that allows our readers to 'become' the character(s), holding items they are holding and bringing the book itself to life. Our monthly read-a-longs and discussion questions included with every box allow readers to interact with other subscribers and discuss the book/gifts. It's all the wonder of a book club without leaving your living room!  

In addition, our Adult (18+) and Young Adult (14+) boxes are curated by women as we are a women-owned and operated company and the majority of our boxes are curated with female readers in mind, largely featuring strong female characters. Our Tween boxes are curated as gender neutral boxes to appeal to all young readers between the ages of 9-12!

Each box and the items included involve months of careful planning, multiple rereads, and plenty of back-and-forth with our vendors to ensure everything is as close the the description from the book as possible. We do NOT offer more than one title per month per box and we do not accept custom requests.

Tween book reveals occur monthly on odd-numbered months (Jan, Mar, May, Jul, Sep, Nov) on the 5th! 

Definitely you can!  Simply select to purchase as a gift (the link to each gift option is in the description of each corresponding subscription). Gift boxes are one-time, non-renewing orders so you'll only pay for the number of boxes requested at checkout. You'll prepay for a set number of boxes and once the number of boxes you've selected has shipped, your order will expire and you will not be charged again or receive any additional boxes unless you place another order.

If you sign up for a gift order and love it, email us at info@onceuponabookclub.com and we'll be happy to change this to a regular renewing subscription for you!

The Adult and Young Adult versions of our Once Upon a Book Club box are $59.99 USD each per month. Tween is $59.99 every other month. US Shipping is Free! International shipping is calculated at checkout.

Our boxes have included an array of useful and significant items in the past.  Each Adult and Young Adult box includes 3-5 gifts which can vary between useful and story-significant!  Story-significant pieces mean that it's a piece that may not have any monetary value but add to the reader experience we try to convey to our readers.  These items have included replica letters, recipes, identification cards, historical photographs and more!  Our useful items have included, but are not limited to purses, wallets, candles, kitchen items, household goods, picture frames, jewelry, bath and beauty products, accessories, toys, small snacks and more! You can also access our Past Box Archive to view more. Also included in the Adult and Young Adult boxes are author interviews, discussion questions, recipes, letters from the author, and additional content that works to bring the books to life!

Each Tween box includes 3-5 gifts which are typically fun and interactive for your child! These include toys, games, costumes, activities, puzzles, snacks, and more! Our Tween boxes also include interactive aspects such as reading passports, stickers, and custom coloring sheets monthly!

Many of our items are custom designed by the Once Upon a Book Club team so that they can enhance the reading experience to the best of their ability and are exclusive to our boxes. In addition, our Adult and Young Adult boxes are curated by women as we are a women-owned and operated company and the majority of our boxes are curated with female readers in mind, largely featuring strong female characters.

*Please note we use a variety of wrapping materials and vendors for the included gifts.  Those with allergies such as latex, peanuts and others are advised to use caution when opening any wrapped packages from Once Upon a Book Club as disclaimers are not listed on each individual package.

If you'd like to switch your subscription for one month between adult and young adult in either direction, please email us at info@onceuponabookclub.com and we can help modify this for you.  Switching can be requested anytime between the 15th of the month (the day new hints are revealed) through the 24th of the month (the day before renewals). Once renewals have processed on the 25th, we cannot process any further switches. Please be sure to contact us prior to the 25th to ensure that your switch between Adult and Young Adult is able to be processed without any issues.

*When a waitlist is currently active for any of our boxes, switching is NOT allowed with the first box purchased. For example, if the first box you purchase is young adult, you will not be permitted to switch to the Adult box until AFTER your first renewal to ensure that you are not skipping the Adult waitlist. After your first renewal has occured, you will be able to switch as a regular subscriber in future months.

Switching from adult or young adult to tween is not an option. Tween ships on its own separate schedule than adult and young adult making switching not possible. If you'd like to cancel an adult or young adult subscription and subscribe to tween instead, our team can definitely assist you with this!

 If you'd like to permanently switch to a different variant than what you originally subscribed to, please let us know and we can help you with this too, however, unless explicitly stated that you'd like to permanently switch, we'll assume you only want to switch for one month and your subscription will revert to the original plan after the switched box ships.

Don't love the hints this month? Behind on your reading? Skips can be processed via our customer service team with a simple email! Just send them a message at info@onceuponabookclub.com stating you'd like to skip the current month and they can adjust your subscription to ensure you do not receive a box you're not wanting.
 
Skips are limited to twice in a row. On the third request to skip a month in a row, you will be required to either receive the box, or cancel your subscription. Upon receiving a monthly subscription box from us, your skip count is reset and two skips in a row are permitted again.
 
Skips can be processed for Adult and Young Adult boxes anytime between the 15th (when new hints are revealed) and 48 hours after your renewal has occured (typically the 27th of the month). After your renewal has been processed for 48 hours, your box is locked in and skips are no longer able to be processed.
 
Skips can be processed for Tween boxes anytime between the 5th of each odd-numbered month (Jan, Mar, May, Jul, Sep, Nov) (when the new theme/book is revealed) and 48 hours after your renewal has occured (typically the 17th of the each even-numbered month (Feb, Apr, Jun, Aug, Oct, Dec)). After your renewal has been processed for 48 hours, your box is locked in and skips are no longer able to be processed.
 
For multi-month subscriptions, the same date applies. For Adult and Young Adult, you must request a skip by the 27th of the previous month in order to skip the next month's box. For example, if you want to skip March's box, you must request to skip by February 27th for the March box. Hints are always revealed on the 15th of each month giving 12 days from the reveal of the box theme for customers to skip.
 
For Tween, you must request a skip by the 17th of an even-numbered month (Feb, Apr, Jun, Aug, Oct, Dec) in order to skip the next month's box. For example, if you want to skip March's box, you must request to skip by February 17th for the March box. Hints are always revealed on the 5th of each odd-numbered month (Jan, Mar, May, Jul, Sep, Nov).
 
Please email our customer service team with any questions regarding skipping and they'll be happy to assist.

For an easy way to check if an item is missing, refer to the Book Club Kit pamphlet included in your Adult and Young Adult boxes or the instructions flyer in your Tween box! All page numbers of the included gifts will be listed there for reference.

If something is actually missing from your box, send us an email to info@onceuponabookclub.com within 14 days of the box being delivered to you and we'll be happy to help get a replacement on its way! (After 14 days, we cannot guarantee to have replacements in stock, so please contact us as soon as you notice something is amiss!)

Oh no! We are so sorry to hear that an item from your box was damaged. Please take a look at our Book & Product Replacement Criteria to see if the item you're concerned about qualifies to be replaced. If you feel your item meets our replacement criteria, please send a photo of the damaged item to us at info@onceuponabookclub.com within 14 days of the box being delivered. After the box has been delivered for more than 14 days, we cannot guarantee we will have this item in stock and may not be able to replace it.  

Please note that Once Upon a Book Club ships monthly packages in our book boxes as our standard packaging. These boxes may be damaged in transit, but their sole purpose is for transporting the interior items from our team to you. Damaged shipping boxes will not be replaced as this is a frequent occurrence during transit. If any of the items inside the box suffer damage due to poor handling, please contact us immediately and we'll be happy to help as best we can.

Unlike many other subscription boxes, we make it easy to find out what titles are going to be featured in our boxes!  If you are at all concerned you'll be receiving a book you already own or one that you just received in another box, please email us at info@onceuponabookclub.com and we'll be happy to let you know what book we're including in the Adult or Young Adult boxes so you can plan accordingly. Tween book titles are revealed when boxes go on sale and we can be contacted anytime until 48 hours after renewals occur (typically the 17th of the month) to skip your box for you if it is a title you're not interested in receiving.

Because we welcome our readers to find out the titles in advance, we do not offer refunds if a book is duplicated.  If you'd like the title to remain a secret but would still like to know if it's one you already own, just email us "Is your selected book this month "___________"?" and we'll be happy to simply give you a yes or no answer without disclosing the title.  All emails concerning book titles can be sent to info@onceuponabookclub.com

We are happy to make changes to your shipping address anytime prior to shipping labels being printed. Once a shipping label has been printed, we are unable to make any changes to shipping address. Our team is happy to switch adult and young adult boxes between the two variations anytime prior to boxes have shipped, provided we have not sold out of the box you're wanting to switch to (we recommend switching sooner rather than later to ensure you reserve your slot!). Tween boxes cannot be changed to another box variation.

All change requests can be sent to customer service at info@onceuponabookclub.com - please allow up to 2 business days for them to take care of these requests!

New Adult and Young Adult subscribers have until the 14th of each month to subscribe to receive our next box. Once the order has been placed, charges are processed immediately. Requesting to cancel or refund your subscription order must be done within 48 hours. After 48 hours, all paid orders are locked in. If you would like to cancel future charges, please email us at info@onceuponabookclub.com prior to the 24th of the month before your next charge and we can process a cancellation for you and adjust any remaining funds as necessary.

All active Adult and Young Adult subscribers will be charged on the 25th of each month. This includes all 1/3/6/12 month subscription boxes. Any cancellations on or after the 27th of the month (48 hours after payment has processed) will not be refunded. Subscribers will receive all final boxes paid for prior to cancelling and then will no longer be subscribed.

If you would like to cancel your Adult or Young Adult subscription, please do so before the 25th of the month before your box is scheduled to ship (for example to cancel June's box, we must be notified by May 24th). From the 25th forward, supplies have been ordered for the next box and refunds will no longer be a possibility for that month. Once the card on file has been charged, there is a 48 hour window to request a refund. If this 48 hour window is missed, your subscription will be cancelled, however you will still receive the final box(es) paid for, and will not be charged for further boxes.

New Tween subscribers have until the 4th of each odd-numbered month (Jan, Mar, May, Jul, Sep, Nov) to subscribe to receive our next box. US shipping is always free for all orders placed with us! 

All international shipping rates are unique and therefore, require calculations to be made at checkout. Please be sure to add all items to your cart to allow our system the opportunity to accurately calculate your shipping costs.

Boxes are always planned to ship at the end of each month.  We ship in batches so it's entirely random which day your box will depart and be on its way to you!  We recommend keeping an eye on our Shipping Updates page here, as it is updated regular ly with all information regarding all of our boxes.

We are proud to ship Once Upon a Book Club to almost anywhere worldwide! Unfortunately, due to the new Brexit import taxes that were implemented on January 1st, 2021, we no longer ship to the United Kingdom.  

Our international packages should arrive within 10-14 business days of tracking updating, however international shipping can, in some unique cases, take up to 12 weeks to arrive.   Please note that custom fees may be required by your country upon the box's arrival in your country - Once Upon a Book Club is not responsible for these fees and they are the sole responsibility of the recipient.  

Please also note if something does happen to your package in transit, we cannot locate any packages once they have departed the US nor can we reship a replacement box at our expense.  In the event of this happening, we can offer a refund of the box, not including shipping costs, or you may pay to have it re-shipped at your own expense.  If you do not receive a tracking number, please email us - all our packages are tracked and we'll be happy to locate the number for you to contact your local post office for more details.

All our boxes are shipped through the USPS worldwide! All US packages should arrive within 7 business days of tracking updating.  Our international packages should arrive within 10-14 business days of tracking updating, however international shipping can take up to 12 weeks to arrive in some unique cases.   If you do not receive a tracking number, please email us - all our packages are tracked and we'll be happy to locate the number for you

As of July 1st, 2020, we are unable to offer refunds or replacements for any lost or damaged international packages.  Due to COVID-19 and the strain global shipping offices have been under for several months, we have experienced many delays with our international packages which have resulted in boxes arriving damaged or not arriving at all.  We have decided to institute this policy and would like to emphasize that currently, all international orders are final sale and are not eligible for replacements or refunds.  We will be revisiting this policy once shipping has returned to the expected 10-14 business days.

Once Upon a Book Club boxes are fun and entertaining no matter where you are enjoying them! However, we must emphasize that OUABC is not responsible for replacing any items confiscated by TSA if your box is taken on a plane. If you are planning to bring a box with you via air travel and have NOT opened your gifts, we highly recommend emailing customer service to confirm it is safe to bring before taking it on a plane. Some of our do not meet TSA compliance and our team is happy to advise you!

Boxes are unfortunately non-refundable and we don't accept returns once the boxes have been shipped.  If your package is lost in transit, please email us at info@onceuponabookclub so we can do all we can to help resolve this.

If an item in your box arrives damaged or is not included in your box, please reach out to us at info@onceuponabookclub.com and we are happy to replace the item within 30 days of delivery.

Our boxes make fantastic gifts - thank you so much for thinking of us!  You can choose to send a gift by clicking the "Purchase as a Gift" link in each subscription listing, and this will allow you to order a pre-paid, set number of boxes.  After these boxes have shipped, your order will expire out of the system and you will not be charged again.  This is also great if you just want to try a box without subscribing, so feel free to 'gift' one to yourself!

Gift recipients are not notified so no need to worry! We do recommend letting them know a gift is coming though, or if you'd like, we have a nifty DIY printout you can either create and give to them to let them know it's coming, or email to them as a fun little project until their box arrives!

Gift (or one-time boxes) are shipped alongside their corresponding subscriptions. These boxes contain the same contents as our regular monthly subscription boxes and are shipped simultaneously.

These boxes are shipped through the same methods as our regular subscription boxes and take approximately the same duration of time. Please refer to the Shipping Updates page at any time to see where your box is in the shipping process. If your box has not been delivered in the regular amount of time, please do not hesitate to send us an email.

Please note that items purchased from our shop are ready-to-ship (unless they are listed as a preorder) and will ship within 2-3 business days from purchasing!

These items are inspired by stories as a whole, and for anyone who loves literature and wants to showcase that within their home.

Ready-to-ship shop orders have 48 hours OR until the shipping label has been printed (whichever happens first) to be cancelled. Cancellations requested after items have been shipped cannot be processed. Any changes needed to be made to the order must be made prior to the order shipping. If a shipping label has already been printed, shipping information cannot be changed.

Preorder items allow for up to 48 hours for any cancellations to be processed. After 48 hours, your preorder is locked in and accounted for in our inventory totals. If an address change is needed at anytime during the preorder period, customer service can assist with this, however as soon as the shipping label has been printed no further changes can occur.

All Boutique items are available for individual purchase and will be ready-to-ship.⁠

Once Upon a Book Club Boutique will always strive to grow and be your innovative and most loved stop for book-themed home decor. Because of this, items may shift and change with each drop and while some items may be reprised with new editions, some may be placed on the retired shelf.

If we currently have an item in stock you'd love to see more of, the best way to help ensure its return in the future (as a restock and/or in a new edition) is to shop the designs currently available in that product, share the product listing with friends, and/or sign up for the waitlist if the product is sold out! Seeing demand helps our team know what our Book Clubbers are most interested in and what products we should reprise in our next drop.

Unlike the products in our Once Upon a Book Club Subscriptions and Shop, Once Upon a Book Club Boutique is a high-end selection of individually sold items separate from our subscription box. However, these products are limited in quantity and may sell out quickly!

While there may be opportunities for future restocks of products, we highly recommend shopping earlier while an item is in stock as we cannot guarantee all items will return.

We are thrilled to hear that you love our OUABC Boutique products! We know favorite classic novels are a personal thing for each of our subscribers! While we regularly host polls on our social media accounts to gauge interest in certain books, we love to hear from those of you who might not follow us or have a social media presence.

Please note that Once Upon a Book Club Boutique packs our product in our branded, magnetic boxes as our standard packaging, then packs the product boxes inside standard brown cardboard boxes for transit purposes. The internal branded boxes are packed with care, however, they may experience some jostling during their journey from our warehouse to your hands. Minorly damaged branded packaging will not be replaced. If any of the products themselves suffer damage due to poor handling, please contact us immediately and we'll be happy to help.

We're so sorry that your order did not meet your expectations upon its arrival! If anything was damaged or missing upon opening your package, please let us know and we'll do our best to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, if an item arrives and there is nothing physically wrong with the product, we are not able to process refunds or accept returns for these.

We do our best to showcase our items in multiple poses and lighting within our product listings to showcase how it may look in various situations. Each listing also includes a full description of the product which includes information about the materials and size of the product. Our customer service team is always available to answer any additional questions at info@onceuponabookclub.com prior to purchasing!

In order to join the Rewards program, click the Rewards button at the top of the screen if you're on a desktop or in the hamburger menu of your cell phone browser. You can also find it in the footer of the website. Once there, you'll be prompted to log into your book club account, or create an account. Once you've logged in to your created account, you'll be able to participate in all methods of earning points and redeeming your points for reward discounts!

Rewards can be used on new purchases AND applied to renewing subscriptions, making this program not only fun and interactive, but a great way to save if you're a regular subscriber, as each renewal earns you points! To learn how to apply your rewards to your active subscription, click here.

You can earn points by completing any actions listed in the rewards tab. Just click on the “Rewards” link in the header or footer of our website to see the list of point-earning activities available for you to take part and start racking up points to exchange for rewards! Just some of the ways to earn points are:

  • Shopping with us (1 point is earned for every $1 spent!)
  • Follow us on social media
  • Sign up for texts
  • Celebrate your birthday with us
  • Creating an account

To find the value of each action, be sure to click the reward link! Additionally, you can also find the occasional specialty actions to earn extra points! These come and go quickly, so if you see them, be sure to participate asap!

Easy! Simply click on the Rewards link and in addition to the actions you can do to obtain more points, you can also view which rewards you've already earned enough points to receive OR how many more points you need to earn to achieve higher value rewards! You'll also receive an email notification regarding your points so you don't forget about them!

Please note that Book Club Rewards are not combinable with any other code discounts at checkout. Book Club Rewards are discounts independently and therefore are not able to be combined with other discount codes. This can also occur with any sales or other deals being offered on the website at any time.

Rewards are able to be applied to both new orders AND renewing orders! To use your rewards on a new purchase, simply enter your reward code in the discount code box at checkout and the value of your reward will be deducted from your total purchase.

Once Upon a Book Club Loyalty Reward tiers are a great way to earn more for being a regular OUABC shopper!

Tier 1: Reader - Spend $50 per year to maintain your Reader status! As a Reader, you earn 1 point per dollar spent, 25 points for hitting Reader status, plus 50 bonus points on your birthday! 

Tier 2: Bookworm - Spend $300 per year to maintain your Bookworm status! As a Bookworm, you earn 1.2 points per dollar spent, 50 points for earning Bookworm status, plus 150 bonus points on your birthday! 

Tier 3: Bibliophile - Spend $750 per year to maintain your Bibliophile status! As a Bibliophile, you earn 1.5 points per dollar spent, 100 points for hitting Bibliophile status, plus 300 bonus points on your birthday!

 

Loyalty Tiers are earned annually. If you do not spend enough to maintain your current tier each year, your tier status will change accordingly. Remember, the more you spend, the more you earn!

Once points have been redeemed for a reward, the reward is final. We cannot remove the reward from your account, nor can we convert the reward back to points, so be sure to choose wisely when redeeming your reward!

Rewards do not expire and can be used anytime you choose, so even if you're not ready to use it now, you can always save it to use at a later time.

Once Upon a Book Club points expire 365 days after the earn date if they have not been redeemed for a reward.

Waitlists are how we track customers who are interested in an item when it is not available and/or out of stock.

By joining a waitlist you are not committing to purchasing the item, but you will be notified if/when it becomes available so that you can then be among the first to choose to buy it or not. This is a great option for those interested in a sold-out or upcoming item. You'll be notified when it is available and can then decide if you would like to purchase it or not.

Our waitlists exist to notify our customers when items are available again! Those on the waitlist are given priority over the general public and will be contacted personally when the item you're waiting for is available to be purchased.

If a waitlist is available for a Sold Out Item, the button will appear on the item listing. By signing up for the waitlist, you are signing up to be notified about that specific item ONLY. If you see another item that you want to be notified about, you MUST join each individual waitlist. You will only be notified about the items you specifically request. Those on Sold Out waitlists will be notified in batches (if a limited number are available) in the order that they joined the waitlist (first come, first served). If more items are available than those who signed up for the waitlist, ALL customers who joined the waitlist will be notified at the same time.

By joining a waitlist, you are not committing to purchasing the item, but will be notified first to decide if you'd like to purchase it before we make the items available to the general public.

For all waitlists, we will contact customers when inventory is available.

If more inventory is available than the number of customers who have signed up for the waitlist, we will contact everyone on the waitlist at the same time.

If less inventory is available than the number of customers who have signed up for the waitlist, we will contact those on the waitlist in smaller batches in the order they joined the waitlist (first come, first served).

For subscription waitlists (Adult, Young Adult, Tween), we must wait until all active subscribers have renewed on the 25th of the month before we contact anyone for any available boxes. Once renewals have occured, our team is able to take inventory and see how many boxes we have left to provide to the waitlist. There is often a very limited number of boxes available and we will contact those who joined the waitlist in order based on when the waitlist was joined.

The earlier you join the waitlist, the higher a chance you'll have to purchase!

When you receive your notification (text/email) that the item you're wanting is available, you'll be given one of the following options depending on what type of waitlist you joined:

Subscription Waitlists
We will begin to notify waitlisters starting on the 25th of the month once our team is able to take inventory of how many subscriptions we have available. We will then notify the first batch of subscribers with a case-sensitive password to be entered to access the item listing. Once each batch is notified, they will have 24 hours from the receipt of their email to shop with their given password. After the 24 hours has ended, the password will be changed and provided to the next batch of waitlisters for any remaining boxes available. 

If you do not purchase the subscription within the 24 hours provided, you must join the waitlist again in order to be notified of future restocks. If you do not rejoin the waitlist, you will not be notified again.

Item/Special Edition Box Restock Waitlists
We will notify waitlisters once inventory is taken of how many remaining items/boxes we have left. Waitlisters will be given a case-sensitive password that they must enter to access the item listing to purchase.

If we have more inventory available than the number of people on the waitlist, we will notify all those on the waitlist at the same time. If we have less inventory available than the number of people on the waitlist, we will notify small batches in the order they joined the waitlist (first come, first served) to purchase within a limited time frame. Each batch will receive its own unique password which will change after the limited time frame has ended.

Once all those on the waitlist have been notified and if any remaining boxes are still available, we will then release that remaining inventory to the general public for purchase and no password will be required to shop.

If you are not ready to purchase the item you joined the waitlist for, that's okay! You can ignore the notification email and no penalty will occur.

If you want to purchase the item, but just not right now, you will need to join the waitlist again. By not purchasing the item when you are notified, you will lose your spot on the waitlist and will need to re-sign up in order to be contacted again. We will not reach out a second time regarding any waitlist availabilities.

If you have decided you do not want to purchase the item at all, you don't need to do anything! Your one notification is all you will receive and no further notifications will be sent to you. 

If you did not purchase the item when you were notified and you need to rejoin the waitlist, you will need to wait until all inventory is currently sold out before a waitlist button will reappear. If a waitlist button is not visible that means that we are still notifying people on the waitlist for the current restock.

Once we have sold out of the currently available inventory, we will reactivate the waitlist button for customers to join for the next restock. 

If you were NOT contacted in the current restock, don't worry! We didn't make it to your name yet. If/When more inventory is available, we will continue to work our way down the list until we reach you.

Our team organizes the waitlist by the time/date it was joined. We do not have a number order for your current position but we can confirm if you are on the list itself. If you'd like to verify you are on the waitlist, please contact customer service.

We cannot give you an estimate on when you'll be contacted. Specifically regarding subscription waitlists, we do not know how many boxes we will have available each month. Once boxes are available, we will contact those on the waitlist in the order they joined. Once those boxes have sold, we will cease notifying customers and will pick up from where we left off the next month when more are available. Unfortunately, we cannot provide any firm estimate on when we will reach your name on this list as we do not know how many boxes will be available, nor how many people in front of you on the waitlist will complete their purchase.

Our Adult box typically includes one, newly released (within the past 3 months, unless otherwise stated) books of the following genres:

  • Women's Fiction
  • Magical Realism
  • Contemporary Fiction
  • Historical Fiction
  • Mystery & Thriller

We do occasionally branch out from these regular genres, but the stories we include  all have powerful messages and all books are read carefully before being selected for our boxes.

Our Adult boxes are typically appropriate for ages 18+. We never include excessive violence or erotic fiction, however many of our selections do contain adult themes, profanity, and content.  Once Upon a Book Club also supports literary diversity and does regularly include novels featuring characters of diverse traits and backgrounds. In addition, our boxes are curated by women as we are a women-owned and operated company and the majority of our boxes are curated with female readers in mind, largely featuring strong female characters.

Absolutely! We share the title for the currently available Adult book here. This is only for the next immediate month. Due to our privacy policy with the publishers we work with, we cannot disclose titles for boxes not yet for sale. The next titles will be released on the 15th of each month along with the corresponding hints.

The Adult subscription window is the 15th of the current month through the 14th of the following month. Any orders placed within these dates (and before we sell out) are for the current month's box. Renewals take place monthly on the 25th for the next month's box. Boxes ship at the end of each month.

For example: The February Adult subscription window starts on January 15th and closes on February 14th. Any Adult Subscription order placed within these two dates is for the February box, provided it has not sold out and moved to a waitlist. Placing an order anytime between January 15th-February 14th will result in a subscription beginning with the February box, shipping at the end of February. This information can also be found in your order confirmation email.

If your first box was the February box, your next charge would be on February 25th for the March box. We always charge active adult subscriptions on the 25th of the month before your box is scheduled to ship. If your payment method is declined, our system will automatically reattempt the charge 24 hours after your initial charge attempt. Our book club is a diverse and inclusive one, and our book selections frequently feature characters of various backgrounds. We are a reading experience for everyone and this includes marginalized groups and communities. Our book selections include characters of all races, genders, nationalities, and sexualities. We are proud to offer selections that raise the voices of those who feel unheard or unseen and will always stand up for those who feel they are not properly represented in literature.

Our Young Adult boxes are typically appropriate for ages 14+. We never include excessive violence or erotic fiction, however many of our selections do contain young adult themes and topics, including profanity, discussion of death, sex, alcohol, drugs, domestic issues, war, etc.  Once Upon a Book Club also supports literary diversity and does regularly include novels featuring characters of diverse traits and backgrounds.  We recommend any concerned parents or guardians to email us with any questions regarding our selections. Renewals take place every other month on the 15th of each month. Boxes ship the 2nd week of each odd-numbered month (Jan, Mar, May, Jul, Sep, Nov).

For example: The March Tween subscription window starts on January 5th and closes on March 4th. Any Tween Subscription order placed within these two dates is for the March box, provided it has not sold out and moved to a waitlist. Placing an order anytime between January 5th-March 4th will result in a subscription beginning with the March box, shipping the 2nd week of March. This information can also be found in your order confirmation email.

If your first box was the March box, your next charge would for the May box. We always charge active Tween subscriptions on the 15th of every other month depending on when you subscribed (if you subscribed during an odd-month window, your renewal will take place during an odd month and vice-versa for even-month subscriptions). If your payment method is declined, our system will automatically reattempt the charge 24 hours after your initial charge attempt. After 5 failed attempts, the subscription will be skipped for the current month.

The Adult and YA bundle combines two subscriptions into one convenient order. Bundles receive 10% off the regular price of the boxes in exchange for bundling the two subscription boxes together. This is perfect for Book Clubbers who never want to miss a box!

Bundle subscriptions are offered on a month-to-month basis. Charges are processed on the 25th of each month.

Because the bundle deal only exists with both boxes present, you are required to receive both boxes each month and skips are not able to be processed for the bundle deal. 

Unfortunately, the Book Box Bundle deal is only able to be offered to those who are receiving both boxes each month. Skipping one or the other is not able to be done for those on the bundle plan. Any skips would forfeit the 10% discount associated with the bundle deal.

Absolutely! Please send an email to customer service at info@onceuponabookclub.com and they'll get you all moved over to the bundle deal to start saving on your subscriptions!

Currently, we are unable to offer a 3-box bundle, or any bundles containing the Tween box with another one of our monthly subscriptions, as Tween is shipped on an entirely separate shipping schedule. In addition, Tween charges our subscribers on a separate date from Adult/YA, which would not be cohesive with a bundle plan. We will continue to work on this in the future and will announce on social media if this option ever does become available!
